TERALYS, Al Mada’s agribusiness subsidiary, pursues its international development as it has announced the acquisition of the Italian agro-industrial group NUTKAO
TERALYS strengthens its ongoing commitment to the agro-industry sector with a significant transaction, and has announced the signing of an agreement for the acquisition of NUTKAO, one of Europe’s leading cocoa and vegetable protein processors, as part of a competitive international process. The transaction will be finalized once the necessary administrative authorizations have been obtained.
Founded in 1982, NUTKAO specializes in the production and distribution of cocoa, hazelnut and pistachio-based products. The group owns production units in Italy, Belgium and the United States, as well as a cocoa processing plant in Ghana. It markets a wide range of products in 80 countries, responding in particular to new consumer trends based on a strong innovation capacity.
This acquisition is fully aligned with TERALYS’ strategy for long-term investment in structuring projects for the agro-industry, promoting the development of African resources and further expanding local production. This transaction follows the recent 2023 acquisition of Senegalese agri-industrial player PATISEN, and will enable the implementation of industrial and commercial synergies between the two groups. TERALYS will also pursue NUTKAO’s development by introducing new products and strengthening its presence in specific markets, particularly in Africa.
