L’inauguration du nouveau site d’Hutchinson - BOEING
Dear distinguished guests,
It is an honor to be here today, celebrating the grand opening of the new Hutchinson site in Morocco. This facility will play a critical role in manufacturing blankets for our 777-9 and 787 Dreamliner airplanes. As we mark this momentous occasion, I want to thank the Kingdom of Morocco and its aviation industry for their enduring support and partnership with Boeing over the last 50 years.
Looking towards the future, we want to build on this legacy by making critical investments in the country. Through our Boeing direct suppliers and suppliers in our Morocco Ecosystem, we are projecting more than $130 million in revenue for 2023.
Morocco’s dense supply chain, world-class infrastructure, talented workforce, and ability to manufacture at highly competitive costs make the country a key player when seeking opportunities for innovation. Since delivering our first Boeing 727 to Royal Air Maroc in 1970, we have expanded our collaboration to include aerospace manufacturing and we now have a significant presence in Morocco.
In 2016, we signed an agreement with the Moroccan government to enable more foreign investment and development of the aerospace industry in the country. This has resulted in 12 suppliers taking advantage of the agreement, including Hutchinson.
The strong demand for more commercial airplanes will continue to fuel Morocco’s rapidly growing aerospace sector. In order for all of us to succeed, we understand it’s reliant on two things: first and foremost, operating with safety, first-pass quality, lean and integrity; second, having a healthy and stable supply chain.
My role at Boeing is focused on growing the ecosystem of aerospace suppliers in Morocco and increase bid opportunities for the Kingdom. That’s why we are committed to strengthening our relationship with Hutchinson. Their new Bellevue office near our Boeing Everett and Renton sites has greatly improved our collaboration and program reviews, allowing us to connect and engage quickly. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication and look forward to a long and collaborative relationship with Hutchinson.
In conclusion, I would like to congratulate Hutchinson on its new facility and thank everyone for joining us on this special occasion. Together, we can continue to push the boundaries of innovation and positively impact the aerospace industry in Morocco and around the world.
