1st Edition of the Capstone Shark Tank: Capstone Academy Business School Honors the Entrepreneurship of Moroccan Youth



Capstone Business School honored the winners of the first edition of the Capstone Shark Tank during a ceremony held on Saturday May 20th in Casablanca.

The ambition-nurturing program aims to provide financial support and tailored guidance to young entrepreneurs with bold and innovative projects. Experts from diverse sectors, such as trade, engineering, management, communication and marketing, were on the selection committee.

Fostering Local Entrepreneurship Potential

"The Capstone Shark Tank is a national competition that encourages entrepreneurship among our students and supports their success. It is also a unique opportunity to empower local potential and contribute to economic prosperity in our country. Incentives and Awards for promising Projects

The top three projects were awarded prizes and tailored support in legal and accounting areas, along with assistance with branding, and  coworking facilities.

The prizes ranged from 30,000 MAD for the best project, to 20,000 MAD for the second best and 10,000 MAD for the third best. The top three rankings were awarded to:

The third prize of the Capstone Shark Tank was awarded to the SOS PROF project. Represented by students from the International Private Institute of Management and Technology in Rabat, The Undergrounds team presented an innovative platform that facilitates the connection between teachers and students. SOS PROF offers personalized education, focusing on the individual needs of each student.

The second prize of this edition goes to E-PLACARD. Presented by  WE CAN team from Al Akhawayn University, this project stands out with its online platform dedicated to the sale of second-hand luxury items and traditional clothing. E-PLACARD offers users a unique experience, with innovative features such as a negotiation and auction section, highlighted publications, and AI-based authentication.

The jury members awarded the "Coup de Coeur'' prize to the Farmily project. Represented by Atlas Traders from Al Akhawayn University, Farmily is a platform that connects sustainable wholesalers directly with retailers and transformers, promoting environmentally-friendly farming practices and ethical animal husbandry.

The first prize was awarded to the SMARTMA project. The SMART WATER team representing Al Akhawayn University developed a water management device for large industries and agricultural farms. This innovative and cutting-edge project monitors water consumption, water pressure, water purity, and detects leaks in real-time. Complemented by a mobile application, SMARTMA provides detailed reports and sends alerts for efficient water management.

This first edition of Capstone Shark Tank benefited from the expertise of a jury composed of representatives from leading companies in various fields, such as technology, IT services, strategy consulting, coaching, and personal development.

Promoting Sustainable and Innovative Entrepreneurship

The awards’ ceremony highlighted the winners' achievements and underlined the importance of sustainable entrepreneurship, innovation, and personalized support for young Moroccan entrepreneurs.

"Being awarded the first prize of the Shark Tank at Cornell University in 2016 myself, I wanted to share my expertise with our future entrepreneurs.
