Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 39th edition of the Grand Prix Hassan II—Africa’s only ATP 250 tournament—is poised to write a new chapter in its legendary history. From March 31 to April 6, 2025, the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech will pulse with the energy of this unmissable event, reclaiming its springtime splendor after two editions marked during the holy month of Ramadan. Drawing a cumulative audience of 25,000 spectators and millions of viewers worldwide, the event will gather the elite of world tennis, including the defending champion, Matteo Berrettini. Driven by a dual mission – sporting excellence and Moroccan cultural heritage – the Grand Prix Hassan II stands as an exceptional showcase for national tennis and a strategic lever for its key institutions: the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, and the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation. This grand-scale edition will fuse prestige, performance, and passion, delivering unparalleled media exposure and visibility for its partners. A ROYAL LEGACY: A new edition brimming with innovation and emotion Founded in 1984 by the late His Majesty King Hassan II, the Grand Prix Hassan II has embodied Morocco’s enduring passion for tennis for four decades. Initially relocated to Casablanca in 1989, it joined the ATP 250 Series in 1990, marking its entry into the global tennis elite. Since returning to its historic home in Marrakech in 2016, the tournament has undergone significant modernization to meet the exacting standards of the ATP Tour: refurbished clay courts, an optimized central court, enhanced lighting, redesigned locker rooms, and greater comfort for both players and the public. The tournament's history shines with unforgettable performances. Younès El Aynaoui made history in 1993 by becoming the first Moroccan finalist, followed by Karim Alami in 1994. Then, in 1997, Hicham Arazi secured the first Moroccan victory, before Younès El Aynaoui added a second title in 2002, forever etching their names into the legend of national sport. Beyond the courts, the 39th edition will host off-court festivities: a grand public village, vibrant evening entertainment, and an exhibition show at Marrakech’s iconic Jemaa El-Fna Square. These celebrations will transcend sport, embodying national pride and cultural diplomacy. HICHAM ARAZI: A legend at the helm of the Grand Prix Hassan II Former glory of Moroccan and world tennis, Hicham Arazi, ex-world number 22 and emblematic figure of national tennis, once again takes the helm of the Grand Prix Hassan II. With his experience on the ATP circuit and his in-depth knowledge of the game, he ensures an exceptional tournament, combining high-level competition and organizational excellence. Under his direction, this 39th edition promises a week of spectacular tennis, bringing together international talents and highlighting the dynamism of tennis in Morocco. Hicham, recently reinstated as captain of Morocco's Davis Cup team, has also pledged to deliver all the Wild Cards to Moroccan players, setting a new precedent for this tournament. Join us in celebrating sporting excellence! The Grand Prix Hassan II promises an electrifying spectacle, where passion, prestige, and performance shape the history of world tennis.
