Glovo Morocco Kicks off its ‘Brands Day’ and continues to Support Its Partners in The Direction of e-commerce Growth

Glovo Morocco held its first “Brands Day” on December 7, at the Onomo Hotel in Casablanca. The company had the opportunity to present an overview of the online grocery & retail market in Morocco and the future development strategy of its 4-sided marketplace. The event was attended by about 60 representatives of local and international brands in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and banking sectors, including brands that already collaborate with Glovo such as  Visa, Coca-Cola, Unilever, BIC, Marjane, Carrefour,  among others.

Hamza Naciri Bennani, General Manager of Glovo Morocco, outlined the development strategy of Glovo’s quick-commerce category, which has grown by +100% over the past year. Glovo aims to continue expanding its offering in order to provide fast and affordable delivery for a wide range of consumer products: groceries, flowers, and beauty products, among other products that are already available on the platform.

Based on this new strategy, Glovo Morocco, which has generated more than 5 million downloads in Morocco, aims to become a full-fledged platform capable of guaranteeing brands visibility in terms of awareness, positioning, and loyalty. To date, the company has leveraged its unique technological strengths to support the ambitions of several brands to enhance their products online and engage their customers.

During the event, Nuria SBITI, Head of Brand Marketing Services at Glovo Morocco said: "Until recently, Glovo connected three main parties: couriers, customers, and partner companies. Now, in this synergy, a new strategic place for brands has emerged. We leverage our technology to help brands grow their online presence and get closer to their customers. Since the inception of this strategy, we have had several successful collaborations with local and international brands, who realize the importance of e-commerce in their business development strategy."

Sami Romdhane, Morocco Country Manager at Visa, said: “We operate through valuable partnerships with key players such as Glovo, partnerships that bring convenient, advanced and outstanding digital payments solutions to customers in Morocco. Empowered by Visa’s powerful network, the driver of innovation in payment solutions, our partners have the advantage to exceed their clients’ expectations” he added: “Visa aims to avail the secure and rewarding payment experiences that our customers in the Moroccan market seek, encouraging digital payments adoption, which aligns with the government's strategy to push the transformation towards digital e-commerce.”
