Holmarcom Group exhibit Moroccan eco-design in COP22 Green Zone
- Authentic exhibition inviting thought on the relationship between creation, ecology and environment.
- Eco-conscious stand designed by the Moroccan designer Younes Duret.
Echoing its CSR commitment and within the realm of its endeavor to promote Moroccan crafts, Holmarcom Group presents the creations of 17 designers* in its stand, located in the Green Zone of the COP22 village, at the "Innovation and Solution" space, from 7 to 18 November 2016.
This exhibition highlights the works of Moroccan artists and designers who put environmental awareness at the heart of their work, through innovative thought-inducing creations carried out using techniques that are respectful of the planet using environmentally friendly materials.
It’s about:
Salima Abdel Wahab, Kanza Ben Cherif, Kenza Bennani, Réda Bouamrani, Samir Chaoui, Sophia Chraibi Giorgi, Khalid Darnaoud, Younes Duret, Khalid El Bastrioui, Hicham El Madi, le duo Taha El Qortbi & Ayoub Ariba, Mouna Fassi Fihri, Saida Kadiri, Wafaa Kiran, Hicham Lahlou, Marie et Morgane Lloret and Soufiane Tiglyene.
The creations are made sublime in a 100 m² ephemeral art gallery created by Younes Duret, a real artistic structure in line with the eco-consciousness and eco-responsibility concepts, created especially for the COP22 event.
Designed as a showcase for organic forms and entirely made of environmentally friendly materials, this space has been designed so as to use a minimum of materials.
The partitions, 100% eco-conscious, are made of waste wood from Marrakech construction sites. It depicts an intelligent assembly system richly decorated by the designer with an Islamic-inspired pattern.
"Safeguarding our ancient culture, its forms, materials and know-how, combined with contemporary and eco-conscious design techniques would allow us to give it a future outlook ..." said Mohamed Hassan Bensalah, Chairman & CEO of Holmarcom Group.
"... Allowing our art and our Moroccan imaginary world to travel internationally is for us a genuine economic, social and cultural approach."
Convinced that the company has a social responsibility to take, Holmarcom Group invested in solidarity. The Group’s social responsibility is also affirmed through ongoing collaboration with actors working for safeguarding the environment and sustainable development.
Holmarcom is also committed to supporting the development of Moroccan crafts via the Gallery H, a creative space dedicated to the encounter between crafts and design. The originality of this approach, motivated by a strong sensitivity to the richness of an ancient heritage, is part of a vision of renewal for a traditional sector full of opportunities.
