MAGHREB ECONOMIC MISSION TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1 TO 8 FEBRUARY IN WASHINGTON AND HOUSTON


The Union of Arab Maghreb Economic Chambers organizes a North African (economic?) mission to the United States of America 1 and 8 February 2015. Named «The North African/Maghreb economic mission to the United States of America,» this mission objective is to promote both political and economic contacts between governments and businessmen, in North Africa and the United States. It includes a program of meetings and visits to Washington and Houston. The Maghreb Economic Mission to the United States of America’s purpose is to open a dialogue with the American associations and institutions, encouraging networking and enhance trade between the countries of the Arab Maghreb Union and the United States. A large North African Delegation With a delegation of fifty businessmen from the Arab Maghreb Union conducted by Hassane Berkani VP UCEMA. Mr. Habib Benyahia, General Secretary of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA), leads the Mission. The Mission relies on the participation of North African officials and businessmen.
• For Morocco : Aziz Rabbah, equipment, transportation and logistics Minister, Driss Haouat, President of the Moroccan Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services, Zahra Maafri, Director General of Maroc Export.
• For Libya : Ali M.Mounir Asr, Minister of Economy and Industry, Mr. Khalil Messaoud Mahfoud President of the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Tripoli, Executive Director of UCEMA.
• For Mauritania : Mr Ould Sidi Ta, Minister of Economic Development and Ambassador Mohamadou Ould Mohamed. President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania.
This is the first Maghreb economic mission to the United States for many years.

The Maghreb economic mission to the United States include :
• Making contact with American government and institutions in Washington from 1 to 4 February 2015
• Making contact with US local institutions as well as visiting companies and industries in Houston from February 4 to 8, 2015.
First step in Washington
In Washington, the program for the Maghreb economic mission includes several meetings with the US Department of Commerce, US Department of State, the Arab-American Chamber of Commerce, Maghreb Ambassadors accredited to the United States, representatives of the League of Arab States, and the US trade associations. Session B to B and visits are also scheduled. Several agreements will be signed Cooperation and Partnership especially between the Arabian American Chamber (NUSACC) and the Union of Arab Maghreb Economic Chambers (UCEMA). The opening of an Arab American Chamber of Commerce office in Morocco will also be announced. Second step in Houston Both official and economic program of visits is also expected to Houston. The North African delegation to the United States will participate in B to B sessions and will be visiting industrial, advanced technology and oil facilities (from the City of Houston, industrial units, NASA agency energy related companies, Clinic of Texas, Center for Arab studies, University of Houston). Several agreements on cooperation and partnership will be signed, including between the Ports of Casablanca and Houston.
