Marrakech international film festival a tribute to australian cinema!

Marrakech is preparing to welcome the 18th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festivalthat will be held from November 29th to December 7th 2019.

An edition that will celebrate artists and films from around the world, and like previous editionswill be a major event in the world of cinema attracting professionals and film lovers alike.

For this edition, the Festival renews its tradition of celebrating world cinema, and will continue to honour the films of various countries.

This year, the Marrakech International Film Festival pays tribute to Australian cinema. Considered to be one of the oldest in the world, Australia is known to have produced the very first feature-length fiction film in history. Australia has entertained the world with remarkable films such as “Dead Calm”, “Muriel”, “Ballroom Dancing”, and “Animal Kingdom”, as well as major box-office successes like “Mad Max” and “Crocodile Dundee”, to name but a few.

The landscapes of the Australian continent are ever present in these large-scale productions. They are places filled with inspiration, soul and a powerful screen presence, like mythical Ayers Rock, deserts stretching to infinity yet brimming with life, bushland that is at once exotic and mysterious.

Australia is also an extraordinary source of talent for Hollywood, and home to some of the brightest stars of English-language cinema

A distinguished delegation of Australian actors and directors will make the trip to Marrakech for this exceptional tribute.

The Marrakech International Film Festival is honouring Australiaas it has previously done with countries from five other continents: Morocco, Spain, Italy, Spain, Italy, Egypt, Great Britain, South Korea, Mexico, India, Scandinavia, Japan, Canada, and Russia.
